Hi Everyone: welcome to the Heart of a Giant site.
I have finally decided to take on the challenge. The challenge of sharing my life with a heart condition. It's been a quite a journey... Technically, it is impossible to put in words as this is a dynamic story that is still unravelling. But, I would try my best.
For those who don't already know, I was born with a congenital heart condition known as left ventricle non-compaction cardiomyopathy or LVNC. I have been living with a much enlarged (giant) and weakening heart and at the risk of sudden death most of my life.
I survived congestive heart failure or CHF, and an open heart surgery to insert a left ventricle assist device (LVAD) pump that helps my heart function better. I am now a heart transplant candidate waiting for a good donor heart.
I would admit that it is quite a tall order. But, I have been blessed with the attitude of a giant, an incredible family and a great team of support. Thanks to all these good folks, I pull through. I am doing well, at peace, getting stronger and happier, every day.
This blog chronicles my life before, during and after heart transplant. I would strive to keep you informed. But depending on the circumstances, I may not be able to at times. So, please check back often,
*Please bear with me as I continue to hone the page and its contents over the next weeks. One side effect of dealing with the condition and being out of activities is some lack of focus. For the vigilent ones, you notice some of that in the text. In any case, do see the website organisation below.
Thanks for coming on-board. And do not hesitate to spread the word.
We appreciate the support. Bye for now. Love and Light :).
Please check back often for updates. Updates may be infrequent, but continue to stop by for anything new!
